Safety Procedures When We Return to the Sanctuary:

For those who will be returning to worship in our sanctuary at the 8:30 a.m. service, starting Sunday, November 1, 2020, we will be taking steps to help keep everyone safe...

  • Social distancing will be applied to worship in the sanctuary.
  • Worshipers must wear masks, which will be provided if needed.
  • Members of the same household can sit together, but there will be empty seating maintained between different households.
  • “No-touch” temperature thermometers will be used to check worshipers and determine if anyone has a fever.
  • Anyone who is sick is asked to stay home and participate in the worship provided online through the church website.
  • People are encouraged to have their own hand sanitizer, however hand sanitizer will be available in the building. Hand washing is encouraged. Areas will be regularly cleaned and disinfected.
  • To reduce the likelihood of virus transmission, everyone is asked to bring their own Bibles for worship and Bible study classes.
  • Bulletins will be available on the table for pickup as you enter.
  • Hymn & worship lyrics will be projected on the overhead screen.
  • Affectionate nods and smiles will replace handshakes and hugs.
  • Use of the Elevator will be limited to 2 people at a time, unless all on the elevator are from the same household. Masks must be worn by everyone on the elevator as well as elsewhere.
  • An online worship experience will continue to be provided on the church website and Facebook site. We have learned of the value of providing this online ministry and will continue to do so.
  • In addition to the offering being taken at the worship services, online giving will remain available on the church website.
  • Please maintain social distancing when exiting the sanctuary.
  • Please keep your mask on in the parking lot until you return to your vehicle.

The health and well-being of our First Baptist Church family and guests are a high priority to us. Therefore, we ask that all attending any service and/or other activities comply with the following:

  • Face covering required – Everyone is required to wear a face covering while on campus.
  • Social distancing – Practice social distancing and keep at least 6 feet (2 meters) between you and others.
  • Please do not attend any services or activities if you are sick.
  • For safety of all, we reserve the right to take temperatures of everyone attending a worship service.

Children

The children are meeting again on Sunday mornings for Children's Church during the 11:00 a.m. worship service. We are hoping to begin offering Sunday school in the near future.

Youth

The youth are now meeting in person for both Sunday School and Sunday night youth group. We are meeting upstairs in the gym at both times. Sunday school is from 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings and we are doing a series called "Bullseye: Taking aim at living for Jesus." Sunday night youth group is from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings. We are on week three of a four week series about personal character. The focus is learning to live as the person God has created you to be. On Wednesday nights we have restarted our outreach ministry at the Patrick Mobile Home Park. This ministry opportunity is open to anyone, not just the youth. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Richard Floore. Email: richard@fbcmb.com Phone: 706-476-7676

Giving

You may give to First Baptist in person at both our 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services, by mailing a check to the church, or by giving online through the First Baptist Church website. To give on-line click on the “give” link in the top right corner of our website. It is a simple and secure process.

Because we are experiencing a very fluid situation concerning the coronavirus, please check back here regularly for updates.

We will continue to adjust to this changing situation and will keep you updated on this page. You can also keep up with First Baptist Church news via Facebook.

NOTICE ON REOPENING OF THE FIRST BAPTIST MYRTLE BEACH CAMPUS

In accordance with CDC guidelines we have enhanced sanitization procedures and implemented additional measures for distance spacing and screening.

We have taken these enhanced health and safety measures for you, our church family and guests, and our staff. You must follow all posted instructions while on the First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach (FBCMB) campus.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

By being on the FBCMB campus, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Help keep each other healthy. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

We ask that all worshippers and staff comply with the following:

  • Face covering required – Everyone is required to wear a face covering while on campus.
  • Social distancing – Practice social distancing and keep at least 6 feet (2 meters) between you and others.
  • Please do not attend services in the Compton Life Center if you are sick.
  • For safety of worshipers and staff, we reserve the right to take temperatures of
everyone attending a worship service.

Please note that the CDC advises that older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Worshippers should evaluate their risk in determining whether to attend.

People who show no symptoms can spread COVID-19 if they are infected. Any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID- 19, and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your time on our campus.

We appreciate your cooperation during this unprecedented time.
